DURGIN STERLING SILVER DINNER FORKS (4) FAIRFAX PATTERN- Dinner forks are in good condition. The measurements are 7 1/8" overall long, 4 5/8" handle and forks 2 1/2". T is no monogram on forks. Each fork weighs 1.6 oz. on my mailing scale. Printed on back is the Durgin silvermark script "D" STERLING PAT'D M (see picture). Below is a bit of history for the Durgin sterling silver collector.
The Wm. B. Durgin Co. (named after William B. Durgin) produced silver goods in Concord, NH and Providence, RI from the late 19th to the early 20th Century. Shortly after the turn of the century, the firm was absorbed into Gorham Manufacturing Company who continued the use of the script "D" mark until about 1930. Gorham apparently reintroduced Fairfax as pattern #1910 ca 1950. I thank you for looking. Check out my other items ! Have a great ebay day! NON-PAYING BIDDERS NEED NOT APPLY!
