This is a Dutch hand or chip carved rack made for newspapers or magazines. It is 11 1/2" wide, 14 3/4" tall, and 1 1/2" (when closed) to 6" (when opened) from the wall to the edge of the drop down piece. This rack has a slight bit of a warp on the left side of the smaller board. There is a split in the wood there but the wood is solid. The carving is very precise on this piece and was done by an experienced carver.
