Very interesting and original pair of WWII German Army combat breeches made from captured Dutch Army uniform material. These breeches are an excellent example of a very common practice by the German Army clothing depots to reissue and modify captured clothing for use by German Army units or second line units such as foreign volunteer groups. Interior of breeches exhibit an interesting mix of two types of lining material and what appears to be a field tailor replacement of a pocket interior. The lining at the center of the fly area is very well stamped with German style numbers that read on the first line; âeoe73 90âe, second line; âeoeH 41âe (Hamburg 1941), and third line; âeoe102âe. Exterior of breeches is made in the typical German Army style with the pocket watch pocket to the upper right side and two slanted pockets to the side. The rear of the breeches are complete with a typical rear tightening cloth belt with black metal claw buckle, all buttons are present though some appear to be period field replacements. These breeches saw actual use since t are areas of high quality period repairs by very talented German Army field tailors. You can see w they closely matched other fieldgrey fabric to complete their repairs. Overall, the breeches are in very good condition with the color being bright and free of fading and/or staining. read more
