Very interesting original rare WWII German Army combat tunic made from a modified Dutch Army M-1912 combat tunic. This tunic is an excellent example of a very common practice by the German Army clothing depots to reissue and modify captured clothing for use by German Army units or second line units such as foreign volunteer groups. The interior of this tunic still has its original Dutch Army partial lining and still exhibits an original Dutch Military issue stamp. No other stamps are present in the interior. Exterior of the tunic still retains the two original upper Dutch pocket flaps with hidden pockets. The German tailors added two bottom German style pleated pockets in a German fieldgrey material that is a very close match to the rest of the tunic. The same is true for the collar, which was added by the German tailors to the original Dutch tunic to modify the uniform to German style. The collar is complete with original to the collar German Army style mid-war period 2 nd type EM collar tabs. T are no closure hooks present at the neck. German style pebbled buttons have been used throughout the tunic. The fieldgrey paint of most of the front buttons is worn; however, it is very well preserved on the two shoulder strap buttons on the shoulders. T appears never to have been any shoulder board loops ever attached to the tunic. This
