Description This great video is now available on DVD! Consists of two discs! The 91st Infantry Division was activated on August 15, 1942, and, after extensive training in the United States and North Africa, landed in Italy in June of 1944. The 91st division saw heavy combat in Italy and won three battle stars for the campaigns of Rome-Arno, North Apennines and the Po Valley. The 91st was also awarded three Presidential Unit Citations. This nearly two hour long DVD video was made using maps, division histories, old newspaper and magazine articles, military props and music, patches, awards, insignia, signal corps photographs, the "point system", casualties, division structure, division commanders, battle stars, material from the National Archives and the Center for Military History. The 91st Infantry Division was known as "The Powder River Division ",and had an outstanding combat record in the the Italian campaign. The video is not a Hollywood production, but a heavily researched and very interesting sequential account of the 91st ID from training through combat in Italy. The video does not contain any actual combat footage other than still signal corps photographs. At the end of the video is the hard hitting and graphic fourteen minute 1945 U. S.
