CLICK TO SEE OTHER FINE ITEMS FOR SALE: INCLUDING 13 OTHER WORKS BY DWIGHT WILLIAMS ITEM : Original pastel painting on grey paper. The work shows a rural view with an old fashion country barn and silo in a grassy landscape. An excellent image. It comes from a rare portfolio collection of Dwight Williams pastels. The portfolio itself is identified in embossed gold letters which read 'Dwight Williams Pastels - WG Chard Collection - No. 2.' WG Chard was a very important business man in Cazenovia in the early 20th C. I can not find too much about him, but did find that his estate was designed and landscaped by Frederick Law Olmstead, the designer of Central Park. Also, t is a street named after him in Cazenovia today. It is very rare to see a collector go to such extremes to protect works of art as was done in the personalized portfolio. Within the portfolio, t are 5 signed pieces and 9 unsigned. All are absolutely guaranteed to be fine original paintings by Dwight Williams with about as good a provenance as you will ever find. Each sale will include a print out with pictures of the portfolio, and each work within it. Great chance to own a fine original by a well listed Cazenovia artist.ARTIST : Guaranteed to be by noted Cazenovia NY impressionist Dwight Williams. Williams is well listed, and can be found in many major art sources including Falk's Who's Who (Both Verisons), Mantle Fielding, National Academy of Design records, Davenport's, etc. He is avidly collected worldwide, but especially regionally by people in the Cazenovia, Elbridge, Syracuse area. The Cazenovia public library has a permanant collection of works by Dwight Williams. Williams has auction records as high as $3300. Individual works on paper similar to the ones in this collection were sold by TW Conroy in Elbridge, and reached prices as high as $425. This is probably the most famous artist the Cazenovia area has ever produced, and works from this rare collection will be an important part of any regional art lovers collection. DATE : Dated Sept 14, 1938. Absolutely guaranteed to be a vintage original work and NOT NEW. SIZE : 12 inches tall by 18 inches wide. Paper is originally mounted to a heavier portfolio sized backing paper which measures 22 inches tall by 28 1/2 inches wide. CONDITION : This painting was originally mounted at the corners for inclusion in the portfolio (see pic below). Has some slight creasing at tips of corners, otherwise it is very nice. The works in this collection are all in generally fine condition. They have always been in the portfolio, and have never been framed. Pastel is a notoriously fragile medium, so to find works as nice as this, that are anyw from 70 to 100 years old, is quite rare. I have taken multiple pictures (Please see below), so the potential buyers will know exactly what they are bidding on. SHIPPING TERMS: Handling: Buyer pays $10 handling fee for packaging the item. I want to briefly explain that packaging a work of art can be expensive. I order a minimum of two boxes, one to wrap the work, and one to package into. I use biodegradable packing peanuts, tape, print shipping labels, etc. In many cases, standard sized boxes don't fit, and I hand build a box to fit the item. Please on any auction contact a mailboxes etc. or UPS Store and ask how much it would be to pack and ship an item of the same size. My fees are a fraction, and just pay for my cost in the materials involved. Shipping: Buyer also pays actual shipping charges from zip code 02632. Items ship within 3 business days after receipt of payment. PAYMENT : I accept and prefer Paypal payments. Please see shipping terms for expected delivery times. MCART : I have been dealing exclusively in fine vintage paintings and prints for over 15 years, and a member of Ebay since 1998.
