+++ Dynaco MKIII Power Amp Mark III 3 - PLUG & PLAY +++ Up for serious bids only, a classic 60 watt mono tube power amp by Dynaco, estate found, not a flea market beater. Up for sale with NO reserve!!This one is ready to go, to be hooked-up and put to use. An audiophile has: replaced/upgraded the coupling caps to Sprague Orange Drops (not those cheap yellow caps); replaced the power filter in the dc supply (it runs nice and cool); replaced the caps in the bias supply (for correct and equal bias voltage); replaced the outputs with Chinese 6550's (test and look good - shape like original Dyna ST style tubes); and the rectifier tube with a DuMont 5AR4 made in W. Germany (tests good.)I warmed it up slowly on a variac with a 5U4 rectifier installed and when finally ready to apply full ac voltage I restored the 5AR4 rectifier, turned variac up to 120Vac and checked the amp for: correct B+( is approx 485V and is stable - perfect); correct and equal bias to both output tubes (is equal at -49Vdc - perfect); and checked for 1.56Vdc at the biasset socket up front (was easily ajusted to 1.56 at about the center of the ajusting screw - perfect.) It appears the new power filter, bias, and coupling caps have done their jobs restoring the correct voltages to this chassis.I hooked it to one channel of my Dyna PAT4 preamp and the other channel hooked read more
