This is a very nice clean rarely seen Atkins 5 teeth per inch rip saw! It has the "E.C. ATKINS & COMPANY INDIANAPOLIS" etch on the blade (very hard to see), but we can see the "AAA" logo, and "NO. 53 PATENTED JULY 7 1896 ATKINS" and the "E.C. ATKINS & CO INDIANAPOLIS IND." and the "AAA" mark and logo on the handle medallion. This is a very nice quality saw, sharp and set, ready to use condition, with no rust, some minor specs of pitting on less than 2% of the total metal surface area, some minor metal staining or discoloration noted. It has a nice straight 26" long blade. The handle is nice with the original varnish about 90% intact overall, and a nice leaf type carved pattern on the medallion side. It has good handle nuts, and no cracks, very little wear on the handle, a few minor spots of light colored paint on the inside grip area, about as nice as any I've seen from the late 1800's to early 1900's era! A really nice saw, so rarely seen in this nice condition these days.
