THIS IS A HANGING MODEL THAT I HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE. YOU NORMALLY SEE THE WELCH HANGING ECLIPSE WITH THIS SAME SACE BUT HARDLY EVER THE "DONITA". APPEARS TO BE 100% ORIGINAL WITH TWO FABULOUS PAPERS ON THE BACK. DATED FROM ABOUT 1882, THIS 8-DAY TIME, GONG STRIKE AND ALARM COMES WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. ORIGINAL PAINTED DIAL AND ORIGINAL HANDS. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A WALNUT CASE. CLOCK RUNS GREAT, STRIKES ON THE HALF-HOUR AND HOUR WITH A GONG AND HAS AN ALARM THAT WORKS GREAT. MOVEMENT IS ORIGINAL TO THE CASE AND IS MARKED WITH E.N. WELCH MANUFACTURING COMPANY - FORESTVELLE, CONN - USA. THE ONLY NEGATIVE ABOUT THIS CLOCK IS THAT THE BOTTOM 3/4" POINT OF THE CASE HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF. THE TOP SHOULD COME UP TO A POINT BUT DOES NOT. THIS TOP IS NOT THAT IMPORTANT TO THE CLOCK BUT I DO WANT YOU TO KNOW IT. IF YOU ARE A WELCH COLLECTOR YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE THIS MODEL. The front two front corners of the shelf have dings.
