Note: "emovieposter" is only on our digital image, NOT on the actual item. Also, we are changing our photography setup! Images with a solid black background are ones that were photographed on our new black metal background. We now hold the posters in place with magnets (so we do not have to attach the poster to the wall in any way), which are small and round and resemble "push pins", but we assure you they are NOT! If an image has a black background, know that the odd circles in the edges of the item are magnets that hold it in place, and are NOT a defect! An Original Vintage Theater-Used Unfolded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") from Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, the classic 1960 William Wyler religious adventure epic (Best Director & Best Picture Academy Award winner; winner of 11 Academy Awards, which was the record won by a single movie; based on the classic novel "by General Lew Wallace", and includes the classic chariot race sequence and the galley slaves sequence; "The Entertainment experience of a lifetime!") starring Charlton Heston (in his Best Actor Academy Award winning role; in the title role as Ben-Hur), Jack Hawkins, Haya Harareet, Stephen Boyd, Hugh Griffith (in his Best Supporting Actor Academy Award winning role), Martha Scott, Cathy O'Donnell, and Sam Jaffe
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970!
Overall Condition: good to very good. Note that the poster has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light blue and red lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these half-sheets, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s half-sheets, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this half-sheet.
Want to know more about the condition of this item? This item has some clear imperfections. If they are within the image, they are likely noticeable, but not very distracting, or they may be in the blank borders, w they will not show when the item is displayed. We may have written a few words about those imperfections, but we may not have, as you can likely see them by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual item (if they are the type that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized image, like faint water staining or tape on the back, we ALWAYS describe that in words). Note that we grade FAR more harshly than any other movie paper seller we know of, and many sellers would grade many of our "good to very good" items as "very good"! Half-sheets measure 22" x 28" and are printed on heavy card stock, the same as inserts, and similar to that of lobby cards. They are often folded twice immediately after printing, and this is in no way considered a defect. Most movies have two different styles of half-sheets. One is almost always the exact same image as the title lobby card. The other is almost always an image that appears on no other size of movie ...
