It had alternative history scenarios - some having things start as far back as 1932, and certain rules allowing players to continue the war as late as 1948! This undeniably HUGE game by the Fresno Gaming Association/History Games , essentially, was SPI 's equally ambitious War in the Pacific game of the 1970s, but with vastly improved graphics: state-of-the-art in the mid-90s. It was originally released in early 1992, and owners soon found it to be very flawed which made it unplayable.This auction does not include the game THE EAGLE AND THE SUN . Ownership of that game is needed for full use of the components in this auction (if you don't own Eagle , there's still a lot of useful information here). The First Edition of the game can be bought for a relatively decent price here or elsewhere.The valuable aspects of this game are contained in THIS auction - which make the game playable! They are, in fact, required to make it playable. THIS AUCTION IS FOR COPIES OF THE OFFICIAL 2ND & 3RD EDITION KITS.INCLUDED HERE :THE EAGLE & THE SUN 2 nd Edition Rules Addendum • Wargame & Warfare Game Company and Hobby Shop, Stock No. 9300R (April, 1992)copy of the 31-page booklet with fully updated rules, charts and tables. It also adds optional and experimental rules, a corrected Campaign Scenario set-up and 4 new Battle Scenarios. This was put together by Terry Shrum, Larry Gusa, Shawn Bozarth and John Gordon IV. 240 full-color counters and 112 black and white counters. [The original 2nd Ed. had the 240 color counters as die-cut, cardboard pieces; the 240 color counters you get here are two full-sheet, full-color, scanned, printed copies of those original counters on high-quality Avery label paper . The 112 b&w counters, originally on plain paper, here are likewise printed on Avery label paper]. Decent quality - ready for cutting & mounting!Official EAGLE AND THE SUN Game Errata sheet (effective 4/24/1992).THE EAGLE & THE SUN Players' 3 rd Edition • Terry R. Shrum (2003)copy of the 37-page rules booklet (by the game's original designer, Mr. Shrum). This is an extended errata/addenda to the both the original and 2nd Edition rules, charts, tables and scenarios. This is not a full rewrite like the 2nd edition and amounts to the designer's final word on his epic game. 371 full-color game counters (additional & errata units) on three sheets of high-quality Avery label paper. [The original 3rd Ed. also had these counters on label paper - they were not available on die-cut cardboard]. one sheet of map overlays for some minor map corrections. [Like the original 3rd Ed., these are on Avery label paper]. 4 clean, bright white cardstock, double-sided Player Aid Cards with all the charts and tables, thoroughly updated.OVERALL CONDITION: VERY GOOD. These are all faithful copies taken from excellent-quality originals and thus are brand-new in overall quality.The rules come in the envelope. The Errate and rules are from A Collection.
