This auction is for a fabulous mid-century collectible tray. It was made and signed by Georges Briard, and it is a large, metal Toleware tray -- open handles on each end. The surface of the tray has been handpainted with a metallic gold background ~ decorated with five whimsical chess pieces as shown. The tray measures 20" x 14 1/2" x 1 3/4" tall. It obviously has not been used, the tray is in excellent, clean condition; no wear -- no rust -- no discoloration or repairs! The piece has probably only been used for display -- it has a wonderful Chess Theme and is quite unique! The front, back, and closups are shown for your inspection ~ a rare estate find!
