Antique, EARLY AMERICAN pattern glass. Deep dish pie plate, fruit cobbler dish, serving bowl. Measures 9.25" across x 3" tall. Candlewick type; beaded at rim and heel (top & bottom). Pattern is American FRUITS: Apple, grape, pear, plum, cherries and peach are all shown with their leaves. Design is on the outside of the glass, the interior is smooth. Exterior glass surface is stippled in the background. The glass is thick, full of character, many small bubbles. Heavy, weight is 5 lbs. Rin gs like a bell when gently thumped. Four part mold seam lines clearly visible, raised and crisp. T is a ~3" straw mark on interior surface of bowl. Base wear, as expected, but this glass appears extra hard, more like crystal more than glass, because the base wear consists of tiny scattered deep scratches at points of contact rather than a diffuse fine ring wear you would find on thinner or softer types of old glass. I think you will love this one. It is MINT, excepting base wear and some faint swirling lines can be seen at an angle on glass interior, I think when it gets extreme it is called sick glass, but it is just a shadow effect, almost imperceptible.
