EAPG Excelsior / Kings Crown Ruby Stained Jelly Compote!Circa 1890s + ~ Original EAPG Period Hello and welcome to my auction! Offered for bidding is an Early American Pattern Glass Ruby Stained Jelly Compote in the Excelsior or Kings Crown Pattern. This pattern was first made by Adams in 1891 and then continued by U.S. Glass. The pattern was extremely popular at that time which lead to its continuation by Tiffin and then to reproductions by Indiana Glass. This compote looks to be one of the original production. It is documented in Wm. Heacock's book Victorian Colored Pattern Glass, Book 7 on pg. 113. The Jelly Compote measures 5 1/2" tall and 5 1/4" wide at the top with a base diameter of 3". It glows a yellow color under a black light. The compote is in Excellent Condition with no chips or flakes. The ruby stained area is excellent as well and the staining is thick and brilliant! So please view the photos, ask any questions you may have, and then place your winning bid for this ruby stained jelly compote in the Excelsior or Kings Crown pattern!
