Being offered in this sale is an American pressed glass small covered dish in the DIAMOND POINT pattern that was made by either the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company or the New England Glass Company c1860s. I believe the form is a covered marmalade / jelly, however, I could not find it listed in any of my reference books. The glass is BRILLIANT clear flint glass that resonates like a bell when you tap it. This piece is part of a 13 piece collection that I am listing today on Ebay and represents the second half of a local gentleman's personal collection. I sold the first part of the collection earlier this year. Several of the forms I believe are fairly scarce including this one. It measures a 4 1/8" tall x 3 3/8" in diameter. The condition is very good to excellent. Other than one small scallop chip off the underside of the cover rim that rests on the base (5th image), t are no other chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or grinding.
