Attributed to George Duncan & Sons, Pittsburgh, in the 1880's, the Monkey pattern needs little introduction to pattern glass collectors. No piece is easy to find, and the butter dish is one of the hardest. This butter dish lid (no bottom) measures 5-3/4" diameter and 4-3/4" tall. There is an occasional speck in the surface of the glass and minor roughness around the inner rim, but no other damage I can find. I'm confident the next owner will be well satisfied, or it can be returned. Good luck bidding on a rare and wonderful piece.
