YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN EARLY AMERICAN SAMPLER FROM CONNECTICUT WHICH IS SIGNED M M AMEMERY. THIS SAMPLER DATES FROM THE EARLY 1800S TO ABOUT 1830. USUALLY THE SAMPLERS THAT ARE LONGER AND RECTANGLUAR SHAPE ARE THE EARLYIER SAMPLERS. THE SAMPLER CONSISTS OF THE ALPHABET LARGE AND SMALL LETTERS, NUMBERS, PICTURES AND DESIGNS AND THE NAME AT THE BOTTOMS. THE DESIGNS AND PICTURES INCLUDE A URN WITH A TREE IN IT A DOG, A STAR TREES, FLOWERS AND BIRDS. THE SAMPLER IS SONE IN SHADES OF BEIGE BLUES, RED AND GREEN. T ARE NO STAINS OR HOLES OR DAMAGE TO THE SAMPLER. THIS CAME FROM AN ESTATE OF A COUPLE OUT OF CONNECTICUT. IT HAS NOT BEEN OUT TO THE PUBLIC FOR YEARS. IT IS FRAMED IN A NEWER FRAME AND WAS FRAMED IN MASSACHUSSETTS. IT MEASURES 16 1/2" X 7 3/4" IN IT;S FRAMED STATE. T IS SOME LIGHT FADING OF THE BEIGE BUT THAT IS NORMAL. OTHERWISE A VERY SIMPLE NICELY DONE WELL PRESERVED AMERICAN SAMPLER. COULD BE EASILY REFRAMED INTO A MORE PERIOD FRAME. ANY LIGHT ARES ON THE PICTURES ARE DUE TO GLARE FROM THE GLASS WHEN TAKING PHOTOS. IT WEIGHS BETWEEN 5 TO 6 POUNDS FOR SHIPPING PURPOSES.
