I am pleased to offer another one of my wonderful early boxes again this month. What a great Prim this is! It has that grungy, grubby, hand painted look that Prims lovers find so honest and appealing. This is the earliest of all of my recent offerings in the way of boxes/chests. As you peruse the accompanying photos please note the outstanding, original Robin's Egg Blue paint . The paint is in wonderful condition considering the age of this box. you can see that t is quite a bit on wear on the top of the box as noted in photo number 5. This early box measures 10 1/4" H X 14" W X 10 1/4" Deep. Please note the wonderful hand forged, hand hammered metal work on this box . This includes all of the metal work that runs along all of the outside edges of this piece. This metal work measures 2" wide, one inch on each side with a seam in the middle to allow it to hug the edges of the piece (see photo 2). Also the handforged, handcut, hand hammered hinges (see photo 80 each a little different in regard to size, the off center lock (photo 9) etc that makes this piece a one and only. T are of course the usual scraps, nicks, dents, gouges, crack in the top board (photos number 5 & 6) missing pieces off the front boards (photos number 6 & 9) that come with age and usage . It looks as though someone might have lost the key to this chest and had to hack in to it to get it to open. Just a guess on my part. T appears to be some name or marking inside on the bottom photo 7, but I cannot make it out. I love the wonderful, very visible brush strokes you can see in photos 1 and 9. This is a great size to stack with other boxes, put on a mantle, a blanket chest, group with old toys, or it can even be a center piece on a table. This is a fabulous, early, authentic piece that is the best of the best of Americana. Handmade, homemade, handforged, hand hammered, hand painted just an all around great piece. Oh, it is HEAVY weighing just under 10 pounds due to all of the heavy metal work on this piece. Please check out my other auctions which include: Teddy Rose the most fantastic pink Helvetic (Bellows) Teddy Bear C1920, a wonderful Circa 1920 Toy Christmas Christkindles Market Stall from Germany, absolutely beautiful the second of three that I am offering, I've got the blues, not only this chest, but a child's rocker in blue as well as a huge blue bowl plus a C1920 German Santa with Boot. THE FINE PRINT SECTION (Boring But Necessary) As always, this auction is for the early painted box/chest only as any other pieces are purely for display purposes only. This means that ONLY the early early box/chest with early Robin's Egg Blue Paint is offered in this auction (the bears and other toys etc. are NOT included, thank you) and all other pieces are merely for display purposes. Thank you! Please note that the starting price does not reflect what I would consider to be the true value of the piece. It is merely a starting point. I am thrilled to be able to leave feedback, but will do so when I know that the piece has safely arrived and most importantly, I know that you are happy with it . As soon as I see feedback left for me, I will immediately leave it for you as well. Thank you. Also please note that the shipping is an estimate so please wait until I send the invoice with the true amount. I generally weigh on the heavy side for the estimate to make sure that I cover all bases then do the actual weighing in the box before sending an invoice . Please, patience on this . I DO NOT MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING and am always happy to reimburse if I miscalculate . I DO NOT HAVE HANDLING CHARGES either. Insurance is totally up to you. I have never had a problem with USPS but have heard others have. Personally, when I buy antiques, I do have them insured, but that is just me. As always thanks for looking and please email any questions to me. Thanks also for your continued support. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOME & PLEASE READ Please, please do not pay un...
