NO RESERVE 7 DAY AUCTIONAntique Baby Grumpy Composition DollI'm not very familiar with composition dolls and was told this cute little character is called Baby Grumpy from the early 1900's. He doesn't have a shoulder plate, the body is sewn to the neck and I haven't found any marks on him. If that face doesn't make you laugh I don't know what would! He has jointed arms and legs that move and he sits like a baby. His body and limbs feel as if they're stuffed with straw and isn't leaking. He has composition forearms and hands. The hair is molded with waves in the back and curls above the forehead; the brown paint is worn on the ridges of the curls. The face paint looks original, has fine crazing and a tiny bit of flaking on the eye. He (or she) is wearing an antique white cotton dress. I stuck an old bow on her hair in a couple of photos, looks cute so I'll include the bow and the little Santa Claus figure.
