Early 1900s Japanese OLD Ivory Dragon Sack Netsuke NR!

OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE!!!!! Offered for auction is a very old and enchanting smaller sized carved ivory netsuke! This netsuke features an ornately carved horned dragon peeking out of a tied sack with an axe on the underside. This is an old piece and part of an estate I am liquidating. I was told this was done by an individual artist, from a school in Tokyo, Japan, he was a teacher, not a student. And dates to the 1890's. These are made from the TIPS / Ends of the elephant tusks and are pre-ban. Very heavy and nice. I was told this was done by an individual artist, not from a student, it is artist signed. It weighs in at 29.9 grams and measures 3 1/4" long and about 1 1/4" tall. It fits wonderfully in your hand and is smooth as silk with a lovely patina. The cross graining of the ivory is beautiful. I am also listing a larger netsuke with the same theme in a separate auction and they look wonderful displayed together. I have shown them together in some of the pics so you can get a feel for size and shape. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE SMALLER OF THE TWO NETSUKES ONLY!
