Early 1900's , 2 Piece, NIPPON Hair Receiver in absolutely pristine condition. In green on the bottom side of receiver bowl reads under the green leaf logo 'Nippon' Hand-painted' - No chips, cracks, peeling of the gold paint. Has a geometric raised, tiny seed/beading pattern around rim of the bowl of the 3-legged (inward arch to the legs, with bottom of legs in small ball) hair receiver; all 3 legs in excellent condition. Gold painting intact on both the receiving bowl and very ornate lid, slight fading of the gold on very top of the hole of the lid; about 1/3 of the geometrical lines are slightly visible but have faded as this has been in my family and used for years. Light pastel greens, pinks and blues (in the shape of flower buds) serve as the backdrop for the heavy, gold, again raised, tiny seed/beading pattern on the lid - very beautiful and other than some slight fading around the bottom part of lid also (again from use/wear) no chips, cracks or actual peeling of the paint from the lid. A very nice piece, that has been well cared for and in excellent condition for its age. My family are the original owners on this very detailed piece, and my grandmother had used it (from her stories passed on to me) to collect hair and braid it into watchfobs for my grandfather during their courting, as did her mother . I have added what I hope are clearer photos and better photos from some different angles so this hair receiver can be better viewed. Please take the time to check out our other auction listings at this time. . .Thank you
