Up for auction is this fabulous Washburn Parlor Guitar. I'm not a guitar guy , I don't even play an instrument , so I'll tell you what I do know about this washburn and if you have any questions or input please let me know. I haven't been able to find this exact example so I can't tell you the model # , there are some #s on the label but they are hard to read. looks like #279006 , as best as I can tell this makes no sense at all. The guitar is 37 1/2" long , it is a spruce top on rosewood sides and back , with a mahogany neck . there are too many inlays for me to even guess at what they all are . lot are mother of pearl . although this guitar does have some problems , the inlay and banding are not one of them , as best I can tell ,all the banding and inlays are complete and original. the only piece missing is the little button that should be on the bottom [see pic # 10 ]. there is a long split in the rosewood side [ would be the bottom side while playing ] it starts just after the waist and continues just beyond the hole for the missing button [ see pics #8,9,10 ]. the spruce top is not perfectly flat , there is a slight " valley in front of the bridge. the bridge needs to be reclamped , as it is raising up on the bottom . there are the expected small scratches and dings that would be expected on this type of piece.
