This auction features one early 1940's Marleen Sterling (with Patent Pending Number) full body Pirate Brooch, and it's BEAUTIFUL!Item specifics are: The brooch is about 2 14/16" long x 1" wide. It is marked on the back, "MARLEEN STERLING PAT PEND 121541" Through researching that mark and patent number, I've come to the conclusion that this piece is circa early 1940's and probably earlier than 1946, making this piece over 60 years old. Condition of the brooch is excellent. We note the beautiful patina through-out the piece and didn't want to touch it.
