This knife is 10 1/4" long with a 7 1/16" blade. The handle is hand checkered wood of some sort and the guard & the end of the pommel is brassIt does have a flat ring of steel below the pommel. The sheath is brass & leather with an unusual looking emblem on the hanger. The sheath is all t but the leather is seperating from the brass. The tang has some sort of stamp that looks like 15 but I am not 100% sure. The blade has some pitting but in pretty good shape for something this age.The handle is tight.I do not know a whole lot about this knife other than what I was told.I was told that it was made in the early 1800's & the guy that I talked to thought that it was American made. This knife was purchased in New Mexico at an estate sale & that is about all I know. Please email me with any questions & BE SURE & CHECK OUT MY OTHER KNIVES & SWORD. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
