This is a very beautiful early 19th century English blue and white tea bowl in the Oriental style. It is constructed from porcelain and has underglaze painting of a chinoiserie landscape featuring a fisherman in a stylized scene with a pagoda and lovely floral groups. The top of the bowl, around the rim, is painted with a fabulous band of flowers interspersed with butterflies, the representation of long life. This super tea bowl measures approximately 62mm high and 71mm across. There are no markings on the base of this lovely tea bowl which I understand was often the case during this period, and this example is in absolutely pristine condition without chips, cracks or crazing. I am sure this special piece would be a welcome addition to any good collection. Thank you for viewing this wonderful early 19th century tea bowl today.
