Fresh from a Westchester Co. NY home whose owners are downsizing, this Waterbury 8 day brass ship's clock is a gem. Appears to be keeping accurate time. Bells were working on ship's strike until two days ago. They need adjustment. Because the bells stopped working I ended the listing of 2/11 and have revised the description for this listing. Clock continues to keep excellent time. Brass case is in fine shape - door has a few light edge scratches and some very tiny knicks on the exposed edge. Face has some wear to the painted numbers and Waterbury name. Original glass in fine shape. Overall good to very good condition. At the top, there is a fast slow adjustment and a window to see the main spring working. Face says it has a jeweled movement. I haven't opened the clock to see the inside as I'm not a clock repair person. Measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the door and 6 inches in diameter at the back. The former owner whose mother gave it to him many years ago, believes the clock dates from the 1920's. I believe with a little tinkering, this clock can return to perfect working order . Has a brass key 3 X 1 3/4 inches. I don't know if it's original. See picture.
