Beautiful pieces such as this cloth, were popular in the early part of the 20th century (between 1910-1930). This gorgeous piece measures 64" wide x 104" long. It is made of a very fine cotton done in a linen weave. At the center is a 32" x 68" pattern consisting of a wonderful array of openwork and picots. At each corner is a 7" x 7-1/2" figural filet medallion of a female nude. The interior 14-1/2" x 42" of this center pattern is plain...perfect for centerpiece decorations. The outer edge of this cloth has a running pattern of openwork and picots. At each corner is a 4" x 4" rose filet medallion. The actual edge of the cloth is finished in a 2-1/4" scalloped filet edging. This beautiful tablecloth is in excellent condition. It is clean, with no tears, holes, or stains, and comes from a smoke free environment. As you can see, it does need some pressing. For those of you who are new to linen collecting, pressing is quite simple...place cloth wrong side up on a terry towel and using a medium heat with a little steam, this cloth will be fabulous. By pressing on the wrong side on towel, it makes the beautiful pattern stand out on the front.
