Early 20thC Fang Tribal African White Painted Carved Wooden Mask White painted item; traditional Fang elongated form A great tribal mask from the early 20th century, for hanging or wearing (okay, mostly for hanging), featuring traditional Fang tribe styling and boasting wonderful carved work, with fancy leafy carved top and rich elongated facial form. It's a well-preserved item, with only a bit of scattered modest painr wear; we believe the "spots" are intentional, and according to the owner of the estate from which we acquired the item, it was procured during an early-mid 20th century trip to Africa. Lovely item, quite decorative and boundlessly interesting. It measures 34" long.
