Today's offering is a three piece teaset. The teapot is by Edward Rockwell of New York City working appx 1805 to 1847. The Covered Sugar Bowl and the Creamer are by John Wolf Forbes working appx 1802 to 1835. It was common practice to add pieces as money became available and this appears to be that case. The only difference is that the teapot has a different finial than the sugar bowl. Other than the finials all other decorative features are identical' The gadrooning at the top and the bottom are the same as is the decorative milled banding. All three pieces have ball feet. T are air vent holes on the bottom of the feet. Soldering two halves togeather ment t had to be a way for the expanding gases to exit or the halves would not be tightly joined. Now for weights and dimensions. The teapot weighs 23 avoidupois ounces and dimensions are 12 inches from spout tip to outermost handle end with a height of 7 1/2 inches. The sugar bowl weighs 17 avoidupois ounces and dimensions are 8 1/2 inches from outside handle to outside handle with a height of 6 1/2 inches The creamer weighs 9.8 avoidupois ounces and dimensions are 5 3/4 inches from spout tip to outside of handle with a height of 5 1/4 inches The total weight in Troy ounces is 38.9 t.o.
