I only wish the condition was a little better on this period American picture frame and paper punch sampler! This frame piece is approximately 125 years old. With it's black lacquer surface and incised corner and edge decoration, it is truly a work of art! T are several spots w the gesso has chipped around the surface edge of the top but just a little corner wear on the outer edges. For the most part, the sampler is in good condition.... some darkening around the embroidery work and one spot on the bottom of the "D" in "God" w the dark stitches have lifted a bit, but otherwise, stiching appears to be in tack. The paper matt over the needlework is stained and torn at the bottom. The frame is 22 1/2" x 10". With a bit of cleaning and restoration, this would be a beauty! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns or if you would like any additional pictures, I would be more than happy to send them to you. Thank you for your interest and best of luck if you decide to bid!
