EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART HORSE PULL TOY- ORIG.PAINT AAFA

This auction is for a wonderful, early, handmade, folk art horse pull toy. The toy is handcarved and features great original untouched muted paint, original wool yarn manes and tails, leather and old shoe string reins, OLD porcelain and mother of pearl buttons, brass trim including what appear to be upholstery tacks, some old decorative brass pieces that are quite pretty (see pics) and an OLD brass button with brown velvet inset. I am not familiar with horse tack, but the person who made this long ago clearly was- it has great detail. This toy is the original make-do- I imagine a farmer working on this late at night in a barn to surprise his children with on Christmas morning. It utilizes things cast off and t and the result is a one-of-a-kind American folk art treasure. The handle detaches with a brass pin, the wheels still turn, the bench inside the buggy is removable. It looks as though one of the wheels is a little wobbly, and t were small two cracks on the underside of the main platform on the front axel (for lack of a better term) and on the tongue that the handle is attached to. These were both repaired long ago, they just need to be mentioned. The main platform (horses and buggy) is about 20" long and 9" wide, the handle is an additional 30" long, and the whole thing stands about 11.5" tall at the tallest point (the top of the manes). I would love to answer any questions. Buyer pays s/h and insurance-which is required on this auction. Thank you for taking the time to view my auction.
