NO RESERVE! Up for auction is only the powder horn in the first 10 pictures. The group photo includes other powder horns currently listed seperately. The pics don't do this beautiful old double curve powderhorn justice. The flash washed out the color quite a bit. It has a dry dark untouched patina. It could very possibly have been owned by a Native American Indian &/or date to the latter half of the 1700's with characteristics that include the size, ringed spout, brass trade tacks & almost flat, semi-domed pine plug with 2 square holes where the original staple would have held the strap. The staple is long gone. The wood plug is fastened to the horn with 10 brass tacks that vary slightly in head size & have an almost black patina. The horn is very solid. Just an overall very attractive horn with a beautiful double twist. Measures overall approx. 13" long in a straight line & has a 2.75" diameter plug. Condition is excellent for age with some scuffs & wear to body of horn, a couple tiny bug chews around the large edge where the wooden plug is & one larger one about mid body on the outside curve that could be filled with wax. All visible in the photos. Please email with any questions & keep an eye on my other auctions for more powder horns from the same collection & many more unusual items.
