We respect the quality of these former buttons and cufflinks by converting in the highest and best method possible...using a $30,000 laser welder to fuse the 14k wires in place. This method protects the enamels and gems from the ruinous heat of a torch. Beware of imitators who have similar looking earrings, but who have wavy looking wires, damaged enamel and sloppy solder flowed all over the backs of the earrings. This auction is for a striking pair of early Art Deco pearl and champleve enamel earrings. The oval earring face is decorated by champleve enamel...a rich black, fired glass enamel on the frame edge surrounding a octagon edged "bulls eye" within a reeded "sunburst" surround. This simple guilloche engraved pattern has been accented by firing it with a pale lilac transparent enamel.
