According to my Web search of "bennett mccormick teapot" the first listing is a "The McCormick Teapot: whodunnit". This will take you to an excellent article with photos identifying this as an early Bennett McCormick Teapot. It also explains the crazing I tried to clearly show in my photos. ..."This is what started it all. A Bennett-made McCormick teapot with a porcelain infuser. Note the streaky Rockingham glaze and extensive crazing." This teapot was made by Bennett BEFORE Hall ever produced any! Bennett, from East Liverpool, Ohio (around 1840) and later from New Jersey. They originated the design, which Hall later copied. The thumb rest on the handle, the "tulip" at the base of the spout and the wording on the bottom of the pot all make it a Bennett. This teapot glaze is amazing... It has an almost iridescent quality. It is the absolute STANDOUT in the 9 McCormick Teapots I recently purchased from a local estate. ** Condition is excellent for age and anticipated crazing. There is a small chip and possible small repair to the inside rim of the spout. The possible repair is just to the right of the chip. There is a tiny chip at the end of the spout. It is just below the glaze level and due to the yellow underglaze, it is not readily apparent. Please examine carefully. There is a small chip on the inside pot rim. ALL "issues" read more
