Blessings from Remember When Farm....been to a great farm sale and picked up some wonderful pieces of americana!!!! You will love this quilt that features only one type of fabric, a wonderful deep blue/navy with white stars on it and a white fabric. I would not call this a cutter, it is way too good to cut up!!!! It does have worn places, which I show and will describe, but it is still in excellent condition to lay on a sofa, display on a wall, fold on the end of a bed etc. It has to be sturdy because when I brought it home I threw in the washer, not even on delicate just normal, washed it twice and hung it out in the hot summer sun all day. So it is fresh and clean, no stains, and with stood the washer!!!! It also comes from a pet and smoke free home, no oders!! This is a large quilt measuring 77" x 85". The batting is a thin cotton, so it is a "flat" quilt, but heavy, because it is so large. In my pictures I have folded it in half so in each picture you see a complete half. One end has a dark blue border, the two sides have the same fabric sewed in a binding. The other end, which would have been by the face, has an interesting story, told to me by the daughter on the lady who made it. She said this end was sewn on to protect the quilt from stains and oils from the face. The fabic on the end is a feed sack. In one photo you can see the faint lettering. It could be removed, but the history would be ruined. I believe, to the best of my knowledge, this quilt is all hand sewn, with the quilting being 8 - 9 stitches per inch. One end, which is in the inside, is very worn, as you can see in the picture, and t is a small hole, and a few worn places. But over all this quilt is in very good condition. The fabric itself is so unusual, blue and white being so desirable, and the quilting just excellent. Oh, I did forget to mention the squares in this pattern, which I believe is an Irish Chain, measure 1 inch. Thanks so much for looking, if you have any questions please email me, I will be more than happy to help you.
