We offer for sale a rare totem pole by the famous and most sought after carver " CHARLIE JAMES ". The totem has an exceptional nice patina and was probably carved circa 1890-1900. This totem Poles has his trade mark Eagle on top of the pole and the detail on the back of the totem pole. Tfore 100% authentic a Charlie James totem pole. This pole has the Eagle, Bear and Frogg. Please note some repairs have been done to the wings and the beak of the eagle but they are old repairs and hardly noticable. The beak and wings are the original ones .On the wings t is little paint left and on the totem none. It has not been varnished the shine you see is from the flash light when the picture was taken and light from the outside His totem poles were carved from red or yellow cedar. The height of this pole is 13 inches wingspan 7 1/4 inches and the body is 4 inches. Charly James was born in Port Townsend Washington around 1867 and died in Alert Bay, British Columbia. He was famous for his work as a Kwakiutl carver. Most of his Poles today are in private collections or museums. His totem poles are highly collectable and have drasticly increases in value over the last few years.
