American, early 19th century, pine with bootjack cut-out legs at each end, mortised through top, original 2-piece saddle leather seat tacked over circular cut-out at one end, top board is waisted at center to allow worker`s legs to straddle bench comfortably; front with rectangular gallery with row of 4 compartments at back; nail-constructed under slung drawer left side front with porcelain knob and lock; interior divided into 3 compartments; all in original natural surface with fine old patina; 48.5` long x 17.5` wide x 16` high.
