This is a 1 in a million presentation Very Early Confederate Patriotic cover, with a US #26 3-cent stamp smack in the middle of the confederate flag. The only possible problem is that the stamp has not been tied to the cover , which in this case, would be a proper treatment, as the stamp was not accepted by the Confederate post office. Markings that support this treatment are the handwritten PAID 5-cents marking in the upper right corner, and the Germantown Tennessee hand stamp cancel near the stamp. There is also no sign of any repositioning of the stamp.
