EARLY COPPINI 800 SILVER ORNATE CROSS PENDANT NECKLACE ...Old World craftsmanship... Early 2oth c. cross pendant necklace made in Florence by the Coppini Brothers, an Italian family of jewelers active since the mid-1700s. Cast in 800 silver, which was the standard used in Italy until at least the 1930s, the necklace is long and its chain consists of foliate and figural links. The large cross pendant hanging off it has elaborate scroll and floral designs and is very impressive to the eye... Please note that there is no clasp in this necklace - you will have to slide it over your head to put it on, which is not a problem since the chain is rather long. SIZE/WEIGHT: 32 1/8" long (for the chain) by 1/2" wide (the width of the figural links); pendant is 2 1/4" long by 2" wide; 51.6 grams HALLMARKS/DATE: "Flli COPPINI", "MADE IN ITALY" and "800"; 1900-1930 (and probably before 1934, when the hallmarking system changed in Italy) CONDITION: excellent vintage Thank you very much for your interest - please take a look at my other items and make sure you add me to your favorite sellers list !
