This is a rare and possibly one of a kind piece of Cumbow China from Abingdon Virginia. It is a cream pitcher with copper luster trim and shows a hand painted scene of the Home Moravian Church in Old Salem North Carolina. I would imagine that Mabel Cumbow Ruskin or her husband Jacob may have been commissioned to paint this scene for a member of the church. I did purchase it in Winston Salem NC. It is marked CUMBOW 1941. I am guessing that is the date it was made. Cumbow was made from 1933 to 1980. This charming pitcher is 4 3/4" tall. The condition is very nice with good color and very minor crazing. There is one micro nib to the top edge. You can't really feel it with your finger. It looks like just a glaze nib - it is very minor. Check my other listings for another rare piece of Cumbow. Message with any questions. Thanks for looking.
