DESCRIPTION: For auction is an unusual Danish Modern era four leg teak stool or ottoman with a raised edge and a slightly tapered, hourglass seat shape. Maker or designer unknown. The heavy upholstery is of tapestry quality, looks to be a combination of silk and linen. The four tapered teak (or walnut?) legs, attached to a teak base have a wonderful patina. Three buttons on each side help to magnify the curvature of the seat section. No makers marks found, but t is either a serial number or ID number written on an underside cross bar. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: The ottoman shares design details of the Hans Wegner Papa Bear ottoman with it's raised edges. Finn Juhl also created ottomans with a slight raised edge and tapered body. DIMENSIONS: Height: 17.5" Depth: 18" Width: 18.5" CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. Original seat fabric (?) is soiled and has edge wear and corner holes. Legs are good, retaining their metal foot pad buttons. T is a crack in the base of one leg, not broken, but made need glue. SHIPPING: Shipping via FedEx ground $39.00 to Continental US addresses.
