EARLY DELFT MANGANESE TILE PANEL - WHALING SCENE This is an unusual and possibly rare pair of vintage tiles, I don’t know whether they are English or Dutch but probably date to around 1760 to 1800. There must originally have been another tile to the left but the bulk of the scene is depicted well enough. Together the tiles measure just under 23 cms by 12.5 cms, the larger tile is 12.5 cms square. Faults - not too many, as seen in my photos - but the glaze and manganese paintwork is very good.
