1914 Early Dresden German Patriotic Kaiser Wilhelm II Cotton Wadding and Scrap Soldier Figure; World War I. This soldier has an authentic PICKELHAUBE, PRUSSIAN HELMET WW1 GERMAN CAVALRY LOBSTER TAIL out of cardboard, that is equipped with metal trimmings. Pressed and embossed Dresden paper. With many brass emblems out of Dresden on the uniform. Shoulder decorations and Bordüren are stamped brass, the stars are out of Dresden cardboard. A saber out of brass and boots out of cardboard complete the rare Dresden paper & cotton wadding figure. Very rare detailed Wilhelm with extensive materials which is for a the patriotic Christmas tree, or for the display case of a military collector as a documented moment in time. No new parts, no damages, very well received total original condition. Height: 7" 18 cm. Emperor Wilhelm governed the republic of Germany from 1919 to 1933. As their fellow craftsmen in Lauscha were blowing glass, artisans in Dresden were making ornaments out of pressed and embossed paper. Often highlighted with bright, even garish, colors, these ornaments were not just Christmas-themed but included fish, birds, animals, children, saints, famous people and other forms. If you are a collector of rare German ornaments this is a unique piece for your collection, this would be a magnificent gift for any rare 1900 German ornament collector.
