Offered is an exquisite piece of Heisey Glass. Formed in the early 1900's this piece of glass appears to be the handy work of A. H. Heisey when he produced glass at the King Glass Company of Pittsburgh. Would date this piece circa 1902. This elegant piece of glass has it all! Excellent deep engraving . The etching is perfection and the subject matter is elegant. Standing at a gracious 6.75 " with a length of 9.0" with the widest point being 6.5" . The diamond shaped base is 6.5" with the widest point being 5". Beginning with the rim ... A nice tumbprint etching completes the top rim border. The edge being cut and polished. The body incorporates 4 large grape clusters with vines and leaves. All are etched / frosted. The stem of the compote is thick and marked twice with the Heisey logo. The base streams down to the bottom rim /foot which is cut and frosted. This portion of the base measures .5". The base foot then is polished as well as the bottom. Condition is excellent minus three corners on the base above the cut and etched rim has three little nibbles to the corners. One must examine closely to view these areas. Otherwise perfection. Clarity of the glass is excellent and clear. The grace and style of this early piece of Heisey lends itself to be an example of Pittsburgh Glass. Wonderful Work, Quality and Excellent Condition mark this piece to be a fine piece of Glass! Please email with any questions or to request further photos.
