3 early Fire Engines in trade box - either Taylor or Barrett This is an early group of diecast/lead Fire engines, contained in original trade box, which is marked 'Fire Engine - made in England - half doz' on one end. The fire engines are all extremely similar to each other, but not exactly the same. the body shapes are almost identical, but they are finished differently in small ways, and the wheels and axles are different, please see the picture where we have photographed the fire engines upside down. There are two ladder escapes, one of which is excellent, the other has one yellow wheel detached, but it is present. One of the fire engines has its original rubber hose. there are 3 seated firemen and one standing with a hose end. all pieces are completely original, they are old shop stock and we have had them for a long time. the trade box is battered, the box base is complete but mis-shapen and quite dirty, one end of the box lid has come unstapled with one fold in flap missing. the original price of the fire engines, at 3 shillings and 4 pence, is written on the box lid. these all date from just post war, around 1946 - 1948.
