I can picture a Grandpa lovingly carving this rifle for his grandchild. Rural folk art toys are a window into how "poor folk" made their children's toys. This little rifle is no exception. Found locally in a shop, I was amazed at the detail and the early red paint! I'd date this to the late 1800's because of the crackle on the paint and the patina of the tin. It looks complete minus the rod below the muzzle. Of course this didn't "work" but Junior didn't care. Back then imagination was alive and well! Size: 20-1/2" long. It weighs only 4 oz. I ship to the USA only. I have no reserve on this so have fun! Please check out my other AAFA listings. Please take a moment to read my "fine print" below including a short explanation of AAFA. Check out my listings that begin Sunday, Wednesday and Friday evenings! Payment is PayPal but if PayPal is not possible, email me PRIOR to bidding for options. My handling charge includes insurance (ebay's new rule) and delivery confirmation; nothing other than that. Communication is key; I ask that you arrange payment within four days. I combine shipping for similar items if purchased within 4 days of each other. I reserve the right to end an auction early if there doesn't seem to be any interest after a few days.
