Here we have an early French Portico 4 column clock with Walnut case and beautiful Inlay. The case is quite beautiful, there are a couple of nicks on the top corners which have been poorly touched up with putty but should be very easy to clean up and make look better. I tried to show this in the pictures. The inlay on the bottom of the case underneath the pendulum is simply stunning, the black swirl isn't a stain but part of the wood which just adds to the beauty. It almost looks like Rosewood there. All 4 columns have string inlay running from top to bottom and make this clock pretty from all sides. The silver dial is engraved and has a cast brass outer bezel which is in wonderful condition. The moon hands are original and look great. The heavy cast brass pendulum is also original and looks great. The movement is complete and will run for a few minutes before stopping, both springs hold power and I see no reason at all the clock will not run with just a routine cleaning. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions or send additional pictures. Please wait until the auction is over and an invoice is sent before sending payment. Clock measures 17 1/2" high x 9 1/2" wide x 5 1/4" deep. Buyer to pay actual shipping w/ insurance, any questions please don't hestiate to email.
