Victorian or Edwardian period French wooden jewelry box with raised brass face plate, brass side handles and corner fittings on front edge. The box has a brass lock but no key, it also has brass hinges in good working order. The interior has a removable insert with 4 small and 1 large compartments with what appears to be original red felt fining. The wood appears to be oak. The dimensions are 10 1/2 inches wide, 5 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/4 inches deep. In excellent condition. A charming and unusual box that has many practical uses and would look great on your dresser or desk.
