This auction is for an early three wheeled hand painted tin plate pigeon or dove pull toy (not sure what kind of bird it is). The toy has three very delicate looking small cast metal wheels. Hand painted in a light beige color with red details. T may have been a ring on the front of the bird that has been broken off leaving the stub of a tab (see close-up photo). The wings are stationary, and like the body of the bird, are both highly imbossed with detail depicting feathers, the eye socket, and beak. The toy measures 5 ½” long3 ½” tall. Although it is unmarked, it is most likely made in Germany. This tin toy is an excellent example of the toys of days long ago.
