we have an excellent tea caddy which I believe is mahogany with beautiful inlays and stringing. The caddy is in excellent condition with what looks to be a minor repair of the veneer above one of the back hinges and a small nick above the lower banding also on the rear(see pictures). The interior lid has an early etching or print of a group of Federal period men at a table glued to the lid. The base of the interior has a grained piece of paper glued to the bottom and the interior sides show that t was something glued t at one time. The lock is no longer present, and I dont know if the brass escutcheon is original. The hinges are attached, but need some attention. The measurements of the caddy are; 8 3/8" long, 5 3/8" wide and 4 3/8" tall. This piece looks great and only need the hinges to be tightened properly. This is an excellent and early Tea caddy at No Reserve. Thank you for looking. This piece will require insurance and will be based on the final sale price.
